Madhuca longifolia is an Indian tropical tree found largely in the central and north Indian plains and forests. It is commonly known as oil-nut, madhūka, madkam, mahuwa, Butter Tree,mahua, mahwa, mohulo, or Iluppai or vippa chettu. The astringent bark extract is used for dental-related problems, rheumatism, and diabetes. Bark Powder also helps to improve vigour and vitality.
A decoction prepared by boiling Mahua bark in water and taken internally can give relief from rheumatism.
