It is called ‘mur’ (المر) in Arabic, meaning bitter. It is the gum of the myrrh tree and oil is called oleoresin. Murmukhi famously comes from Mecca, so it is called ‘Mur Makki’. Mur Makki (Desi Jadi Buti) is dry, light digest, bitter, pungent and is known for its hot potency. Gum/resin of Hirabol is used in medicnal purposes. Mur Makki can cure tridosha i.e. vata daosha, pitta dosha and kapha dosha. It is a spiny herb which is primarily used to produce resin made from the dried tree sap is a native tree of Arabian Peninsula and Africa.
