SURANJAN MITHI – Desi Jadi Buti – It is an annual alpine herb. It can be recognized by an almost conical corm with a longitudinally grooved flat side, rapier-like leaves, short scape, and golden yellow flowers.
It is Analgesic, resolvent, Anti-inflammatory, Anti-rheumatic, Astringent, Cathartic, Anti-phlegmatic. Concoctive, alternative, Aphrodisiac, Carminative, Laxative, Desiccant, Local Irritant, Emetic, Anodyne, Purgative, Sedative, Diuretic and Soporific.
This species is distributed in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan region across Afghanistan, Turkestan, Pakistan, and India between an altitude range of 1000-2700 m. Within India, it has been recorded in Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh.
